Reading notes: Narayan Part B
Many people are distraught about Rama having to go into exile, as his brother Lakshmana is enraged. His brother and sita insist on accompanying him into the forest. Rama’s brother Bharata is away at his grandfathers during these crazy events in Ayodhya. He returns home because of the messengers that came to find him without saying why he needed to come home. Bharata comes home to learn about Dasharatha’s death and rama’s exile. Outraged by rama’s exile, he places rama’s sandals on the throne and refuses to enter Ayodhy again until Rama’s return. Lakshmana captures sita and mutilates her. Kara forces kara to attack rama, but rama defeats him. Ravana falls madly in love for sita by the description from Shurpanakha. Ravana uses his uncle Maricha to help capture sita. But Maricha now lives a life of meditation, but eventually he helps by disguising himself as a golden deer which sita wants. So rama shoots the deer and then the uncle uses ramas voice to cry for help. Then sita send Lakshmana to go after rama which left sita alone.
