Feedback Strategies

Image
The two Articles I chose to read were Be a Mirror, and the difference between praise and feedback. The first article focused of 5 qualities for good feedback. First being be specific with the feedback, the second point being focus on what the reader is doing. The third being focus on the process, showing the writer there time was valued. The fourth point was make sure it can transfer, meaning make sure they can use it in other aspects other than that one assignment. The fifth and final being take yourself out of the feedback, make it about them and less about you. Some takeaways from the second article were do not just praise someone on what they  have done, but get more involved with them, appreciate it and ask questions. Encourage both positive and negative feedback, the negative feedback is just ground for improvement. Pay attention through out so that in the feedback you can be descriptive about something very specific needing improvement. In my opinion feedback is necessar...

Topic Research: Indian Elephants

Image
The Topic I chose to go into more depth in was the Indian Elephants. Airavata was the elephant rescued by the god Vishnu. First Story could go along the lines the theme of Airavata's rescue, but with characters changed. The second Story could go along with the theme of Airavata coming out of churning the ocean of milk, and the elephant guarding one of the points of the compass. The third story i could possibly use is Airavata protecting his respective quarter, and i could change characters and have that animal protecting some other holy thing. One of his biggest enjoyments of bull riding was seeing and riding different bulls each month that are brought to competition. Cody was getting ready for the first night of competition, getting his gloves and bull rope together. He would get in his pre-riding zone blocking out all distractions, and that’s when he knew he was ready. The announcer called for all the riders to come draw the bull that they were going to rid that night. Cody walked to the office and drew his number then walked over to the board where the list of bull names was posted. Cody stood in shock, this night he was bound to ride Midnight Magic the 2,500 lbs  of pure muscle bull. This is not...
