Feedback Thoughts

The first Article that I chose was Why rejection hurts so much and what to do about it. Everyone gets down on themselves at times, and this article did a great job at pointing out what people do to bring themselves down, and what people should do to be happy and bring themselves back up. A couple points he mentioned was that you need to have a zero tolerance for self- criticism, know your self -worth and revive it. Be social and do things with others even if the first option doesn’t work out, go to the next.

The next article I read was Seven ways to crushself-doubt. This article did a great job of setting up a guideline of what you need to do to crush your inner self doubt. A couple points that the author mentioned that I thought were good points, consisted of Abandon perfectionism, Don’t Compare yourself to others, trust yourself, and embrace a growth mindset. These 4 points were the main ones that stuck with me that I will try to put into play in my everyday lifestyle.

In general, I think feedback is much more important than the grade received, because that is how you learn and expand your knowledge. One thing I have recently heard is the best way of learning is by doing. Meaning even if you mess up you have made a lesson from the situation and next time you will work around the situation. Feedback in my opinion is one greatest requirement for growth whether it be in yourself, an organization or any form of group.

(I thought this cartoon kind of tied in with the second article I had read so I thought I would share it. Picture Source: Pinterest)

  1. Hi Drew, I really like the image that you put, I think it really ties up everything. Without self doubt, everything would be easier to deal with. Yes, I think everyone does get down but it is also our job to put ourselves up. The article does do a great job in telling the readers how to bring us up. I know what I personally do is compare my self sometimes which is not a lot good unless you use it as motivation.
