Week 13 Story: The Great Race

One brisk December day in the northern providence of British Columbia. There was set to be a great ski race, between two of the country’s greatest skiers. Anna was the best skier British Columbia had ever seen, she was younger and did not have much big race experience. Jennifer was an Olympic gold medalist for Canada as well had many other medals under her belt. On the line of the race was acceptance to the following years Canadian Olympic team, as well the recognition of being the best. Anna was very nervous, as she knew she was fully possible of winning but still had small reserves of doubt. She had watched Jennifer her entire life fly down the mountains, taking medal after medal. Jennifer on the other hand had confidence through the roof, thinking of this as just another race. They decided to meet up two days before the race for coffee at the base of the mountain. Feedback Strategies

The two Articles I chose to read were Be a Mirror, and the difference between praise and feedback. The first article focused of 5 qualities for good feedback. First being be specific with the feedback, the second point being focus on what the reader is doing. The third being focus on the process, showing the writer there time was valued. The fourth point was make sure it can transfer, meaning make sure they can use it in other aspects other than that one assignment. The fifth and final being take yourself out of the feedback, make it about them and less about you. Some takeaways from the second article were do not just praise someone on what they  have done, but get more involved with them, appreciate it and ask questions. Encourage both positive and negative feedback, the negative feedback is just ground for improvement. Introduction To Lead Engineer

Hi all,           My name is Drew Fazzino, I am a Senior at the University of Oklahoma. My major is Mechanical Engineering. The coolest thing about my major is seeing how different systems work together and run, as well as making parts in CAD and seeing them get made. The best class I took last semester was Engineering Design because I learned different CAD platforms and how to dynamically analyze parts via computer, taking out some of the time of tedious hand calculations. My biggest accomplishment last semester was boosting my gpa some and just having a good semester in general. Over the break, I went to Colorado for a couple of weeks and relaxed a little before and after my internship at innovex downhole solutions.
